It is reported about Sayyiduna Sufyan bin Abi Zuhayr (may Allah be pleased with him) that his horse became exhausted at al-Aqiq. He was part of a military expedition which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent out. He returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him for an animal to ride. Sayyiduna Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) states that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out with him to obtain a camel for him. He found a camel only with Sayyiduna Abu Jahm bin Hudhayfah al-Adawi (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him the price of the camel, and Sayyiduna Abu Jahm (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! I will not sell this camel to you; rather, take it and give it as a mount to whomever you wish." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the camel from him. Then he went out until he reached Bi'r Ihab, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon buildings will reach this place, and soon Syria (al-Sham) will be conquered. Some of the people of this city will go to Syria, and its prosperity and abundance will please them, although Madinah is better for them, if only they knew. Then Iraq will be conquered, and some people will come and mount their families and those who obey them (that is, slaves and the like) and take them away, although Madinah is better for them, if only they knew. Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) supplicated for the people of Makkah, and I supplicate to Allah Almighty that He place blessing for us in our sa' and place blessing for us in our mudd, just as He placed blessing for the people of Makkah."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of this narration is reported in the "Sahih".
Imam Ahmad recorded it; some of its narrators are not named.
