عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " سَيَخْرُجُ أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ مِنْهَا ، وَلَا يُعَمِّرُونَهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ تُعَمَّرُ ، وَتَمْتَلِئُ وَتُبْنَى ، ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنْهَا ، وَلَا يَعُودُونَ إِلَيْهَا أَبَدًا " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Soon the people of Makkah will leave it, and only a few will inhabit it. Then it will be inhabited again; it will fill up and buildings will be erected there. Then those people will leave it and will never return to it again."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, whose hadith is hasan (good), and its remaining narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
