Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty sends down one hundred and twenty mercies every night and day. He sends down mercy upon this House: sixty of them are for those who circumambulate it, forty for those who pray, and twenty for those who look at it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, but he narrated these words: "They descend upon this mosque, that is, the mosque of Makkah." Its chain contains Yusuf bin al-Safar, who is matruk (abandoned). In one narration the words are: "Forty mercies are for those who stay in i'tikaf," and there is no mention of those who pray.
