Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed that Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) had begun her menses. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I think she will compel us to stay back." The people said: "She had performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah on the Day of Sacrifice." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then she may depart."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration; its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Amr, about whom there has been criticism, though he has been declared trustworthy; the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
