Sayyiduna Khalid bin Abd al-Uzza bin Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) related: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped at his place in al-Ji'ranah and gave him a goat to slaughter. He stayed with him, and evening came upon them at his place. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to perform Umrah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came down from the upper ground, and Sayyiduna Muharrish (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with him. The two of them reached a place called Ashqab. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Muharrish, the water from this place up to al-Kuddah, and the water of al-Kuddah, belong to Khalid, and the remaining part of the valley, O Muharrish, is yours." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) scraped the ground with his blessed hand, and water came out of it, and he drank it. Then he intended to perform Umrah. Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a message to one of his companions, a man named Muharrish bin Abdullah. At that time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was apprehensive about entering Makkah, so he took him along by a route he knew, where there was no danger, until he completed his rites, and we stayed with Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him). On the way back, Sayyiduna Muharrish (may Allah be pleased with him) released him from ihram, that is, he shaved his hair.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
