عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : جَاءَتْ رَبِيعَةُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَأْذِنُونَهُ أَنْ يَنْفِرُوا فِي النَّفْرِ الْأَوَّلِ ، فَأَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ وَيَقُولُ لَكَ : قُلْ لِرَبِيعَةَ لَا يَنْفِرُوا فِي النَّفْرِ الْأَوَّلِ فَلَأَقِلَّنَّكَ مِنْ حَبِيبٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: (The people of) Rabi'ah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). They asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for permission to depart with the first departure. Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Allah Almighty sends you His greetings of peace and says to you: Tell (the people of the tribe of) Rabi'ah not to depart with the first departure, or else their mutual love will come to an end."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
