Majma al-Zawaid 5617 — Mina
عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ : قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أَمْرَ مِنًى لَعَجَبٌ وَهِيَ ضَيِّقَةٌ ، فَإِذَا نَزَلَهَا النَّاسُ اتَّسَعَتْ ؟ ! فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ مِنًى كَالرَّحِمِ هِيَ ضَيِّقَةٌ ، فَإِذَا حَمَلَتْ وَسَّعَهَا اللَّهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We said: "O Messenger of Allah! The matter of Mina is astonishing: it is a narrow place, yet when people camp there it becomes spacious." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of Mina is like the womb: it is narrow, but when the woman conceives, Allah Almighty makes it (the womb) spacious."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
