Book of Hajj
بَابٌ فِي الْحَلْقِ وَالتَّقْصِيرِ وَقَوْلِهِ : لَا تُوضَعُ النَّوَاصِي إِلَّا فِي حَجٍّ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ .

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ " . قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ ؟ قَالَ : " رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ ؟ قَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ : " وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ ضَعَّفَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty have mercy on those who shave their heads." We said: "And on those who shorten their hair as well?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty have mercy on those who shave their heads." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! And on those who shorten their hair as well?" The third or fourth time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And on those who shorten their hair as well (may Allah Almighty have mercy on them)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abdullah bin al-Mu'ammal, whom Imam Ahmad and others declared da'if (weak), though he has also been declared thiqah (trustworthy).
