Book of Hajj
بَابٌ فِي الْحَلْقِ وَالتَّقْصِيرِ وَقَوْلِهِ : لَا تُوضَعُ النَّوَاصِي إِلَّا فِي حَجٍّ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ .
Shaving and shortening the hair, and his words: "Forelocks are only shaved for Hajj and Umrah"

وَعَنْ حُبْشِيِّ بْنِ جُنَادَةَ - وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ ؟ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ ؟ قَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ : " وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Hubshi bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of attending the Farewell Pilgrimage, narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, and those who shorten their hair as well?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! And those who shorten their hair as well?" The third time he said: "And those who shorten their hair as well (forgive them)."
Imam Ahmad and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, the latter in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrators of Imam Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
