Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 54

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah). When they say it, they will have secured their lives and their wealth from me, except by its right, and their reckoning will rest with Allah Almighty." It was asked: "What is meant by its right?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Committing adultery after being muhsan (married), or adopting disbelief after accepting Islam, or killing a person, in which case he will be killed in return for it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Hashim al-Bayruti, whom most of the hadith scholars have declared trustworthy.
