Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5344

Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would tie on headbands that had wars and saffron on them; with them they would bind the lower part of their hair away from their foreheads before entering ihram, and then they would enter ihram in that same state.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a female narrator, Hukaymah bint Umaymah, from whom Ibn Jurayj narrated. No one has criticised this woman, and Abu Dawud used her narration as evidence. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
