Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A young man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I am setting out for Hajj. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) walked along with him, raised his head towards him and said: "O young man, may Allah Almighty provide you with taqwa (God-consciousness) as your provision, direct you towards good, and suffice you against worry." (The narrator says:) When the man returned, he greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with salam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head towards him and said: "May Allah Almighty accept your Hajj, expiate your sins, and replace for you what you have spent."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The opening part of it is reported in the Sahih. Its chain contains a narrator, Maslamah bin Salim; according to one view, his name is Muslim bin Salim al-Juhani. Imam al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) declared him da'if (weak).
