بَابٌ فِيمَنْ تَرَكَ الْخَيْرَ وَالْحَجَّ لِعَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا .

عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ وَلَا أَمَةٍ يَدَعُ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ إِلَّا مَشَى مِنْهَا فِي سُخْطِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَلَا يَدَعُ أَنْ يُنْفِقَ نَفَقَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا أَنْفَقَ أَضْعَافًا مُضَاعَفَةً فِي سُخْطِ اللَّهِ ، وَلَا يَدَعُ الْحَجَّ لِغَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا رَأَى الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْضِيَ تِلْكَ الْحَاجَةَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الْأَسَدِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any male or female servant (of Allah) who neglects to walk in fulfilling a need of his Muslim brother will walk (as much) in the displeasure of Allah Almighty. Whoever neglects to spend something in the path of Allah will spend many times as much in the displeasure of Allah Almighty. And whoever abandons Hajj for some worldly purpose will see those with shaven heads before that (worldly) need of his is fulfilled (that is, before his task is completed, the pilgrims will already have performed Hajj and returned)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Ubayd bin al-Qasim al-Asadi, who is matruk (abandoned).
