Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5253

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You have been commanded to establish four things: establishing the prayer, giving the zakah, and establishing Hajj and Umrah to the House. Hajj is the greater Hajj, and Umrah is the lesser Hajj.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Hadiths concerning the obligation of Hajj and other matters have already passed in the chapter on faith.
