Abu al-Sha'tha' narrates: We came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) on the middle day of the days of Tashriq. The narrator says: Food was brought; the people came forward, but his son moved away. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to him: "Come forward and eat." He said: "I am fasting." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Do you not know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'These are days of eating and remembrance (of Allah)'?"
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
