Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5118

A woman named Ulaylah narrates this statement of her mother: I said to Amatullah bint Ruzaynah: "O Amatullah, did your mother narrate to you that she heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say something about the fast of Ashura?" That woman replied: "Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to honour this day, to the extent that he would call for his own nursing infants and those of his daughter Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), put some of his saliva into their mouths, and say to their mothers: 'Do not suckle them until night comes.'"
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it, and its wording is: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to honour it, to the extent that he would even send for his own nursing infants and those of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), put some of his saliva into their mouths, and say to their mothers: 'Do not suckle them until night comes.' The saliva of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would suffice for those children." I have not found anyone who gives the biographies of the woman named Ulaylah and the women above her. Al-Tabarani stated that Ulaylah bint al-Kumayt, from her mother Aminah,
narrated this report.
