Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 51

Abu Malik al-Ashja'i narrates from his father: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah). When they say it, they will have secured their lives and their wealth from me, except by its right, and their reckoning will rest with Allah Almighty."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
