Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man came and said: O Messenger of Allah, may I kiss while I am fasting? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No. Then an old man came and said: May I kiss while I am fasting? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes. We began looking at one another, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I know why you are looking at one another; the old man has control over himself.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, whose hadith is hasan (good), though he has been criticised.
