وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَنْ تَزَالَ أُمَّتِي عَلَى سُنَّتِي مَا لَمْ يَنْتَظِرُوا بِفِطْرِهِمْ طُلُوعَ النَّجْمِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ الْوَاقِدِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My Ummah will remain upon my Sunnah as long as they do not wait for the stars to appear in order to break their fast."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains al-Waqidi, who is da'if (weak), though he has been declared trustworthy.
