Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4831

Atiyyah bin Sufyan reports this statement of Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): The delegation of the tribe of Thaqif came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Ramadan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a tent pitched for them in the mosque. When they accepted Islam, they fasted with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Ishaq, who is thiqah (trustworthy), but he is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
