عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " رَمَضَانُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ رَمَضَانَ فِيمَا سِوَاهَا ، وَجُمُعَةٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ جُمُعَةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهَا مِنَ الْبُلْدَانِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him); he states that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ramadan in Madinah al-Munawwarah (spending the month / fasting it) is more virtuous than a thousand Ramadans in other cities, and Friday in Madinah al-Munawwarah (offering the Friday prayer) is better than a thousand Fridays in other cities."
Al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain contains a narrator named Kathir bin Abdullah, who is da'if (weak).
