Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A little knowledge is better than much worship. It is enough for a man's understanding (or learning) that he worships Allah, and it is enough for a man's ignorance that he is self-admiring about his own opinion. People are only of two kinds: a believer and an ignorant person. So do not harm the believer, and do not live alongside the ignorant."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Ishaq bin Asid, about whom Abu Hatim said: One should not occupy oneself with him.
