وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " صَنَائِعُ الْمَعْرُوفِ تَقِي مَصَارِعَ السُّوءِ ، وَصَدَقَةُ السِّرِّ تُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ ، وَصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ تَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمُرِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Doing good deeds protects against an evil death; secret charity extinguishes the anger of Allah Almighty; and maintaining ties of kinship increases one's lifespan."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain is hasan (good).
