Al-Muttalib bin Hantab narrated: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) sent some money for expenses and some clothing to Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her). Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to the messenger: "O my son! I do not accept anything from anyone." When the messenger was leaving, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Bring him back to me!" The people brought him back, and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I remembered something (which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me): 'O Aishah! When someone gives you something without your asking, accept it, for it is provision that Allah Almighty has given you.'"
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except that the narrator al-Muttalib bin Abdullah is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain), and there is disagreement about whether he heard from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
