وَعَنْ ثَوْبَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ سَأَلَ مَسْأَلَةً وَهُوَ عَنْهَا غَنِيٌّ كَانَتْ شَيْئًا فِي وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever asks for something while he has no need of asking, it will be 'something' on his face on the Day of Resurrection."
