Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4511

Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That one of you takes a rope (gathers firewood and sells it), eats from it himself and also gives charity, is better for him than begging from people, whether they give him or refuse him."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
