وَعَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَفِي الْحَمِيرِ زَكَاةٌ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، إِلَّا الْآيَةَ الْفَاذَّةَ الشَّاذَّةَ : ( فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ ) " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: "Is zakah due on donkeys?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, except for one unique, all-encompassing verse: 'Whoever does good the weight of an atom will see it.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Sa'id bin Bashir, about whom there is criticism, though he has been declared trustworthy.
