Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4261

Nafi' said: We came to Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Abi Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with her), and she narrated to us that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I hold that if anyone were to be exempted from the squeezing of the grave, Sa'd bin Mu'adh would have been spared it; yet he too was squeezed."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and it is mursal. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
