وَعَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ : أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ شَهِدَ جِنَازَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ : فَأَظْهَرُوا الِاسْتِغْفَارَ ، فَلَمْ يُنْكِرْ ذَلِكَ أَنْسٌ ، وَأَدْخَلُوهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ رِجْلِ الْقَبْرِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Ibn Sirin said: Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) attended the funeral of a man from the Ansar. The people began to seek forgiveness aloud, and Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) did not object to it. They lowered him into the grave from the side of its foot end.
