عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ : صَلَّى عَلِيٌّ يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ عَلَى عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ وَهَاشِمِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، فَكَانَ عَمَّارُ أَقْرَبَهُمَا إِلَى عَلِيٍّ ، وَكَانَ هَاشِمُ أَقْرَبَهُمَا إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ سِنَانُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

Imam Sha'bi narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Siffin, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) led the funeral prayer over Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Hashim bin Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) was on the side nearer to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Hashim (may Allah be pleased with him) was on the side of the qiblah.
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Sinan bin Harun, about whom there is criticism, though he has also been declared trustworthy.
