وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ ، أَنْ عَلِيًّا صَلَّى عَلَى سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ فَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ سِتًّا ، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ بَدْرِيٌّ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) led the funeral prayer of Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) and said six takbirs over him. Then he turned towards us and said: "He was one of the people of Badr."
