وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : خِلَالٌ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - تَرَكَهُنَّ النَّاسُ : إِحْدَاهُنَّ تَسْلِيمُ الْإِمَامِ فِي الْجِنَازَةِ مِثْلَ تَسْلِيمِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: There are some practices that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do and that the people have abandoned. One of them is the imam giving the salam in the funeral prayer in the same way as he gives it in the regular prayer.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
