Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim who attends the funeral of a Muslim man receives one qirat of reward. If he remains seated until it is levelled over him (that is, until the deceased is buried), that person receives two qirats of reward, each qirat being like Mount Uhud." In one narration the wording is: "Whoever offers the funeral prayer, one qirat is recorded for him."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with these words: "Whoever follows a funeral and offers its funeral prayer"; the people said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is meant by the qirat?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Like Mount Uhud." One of the two chains contains Muhtasib, and the other contains Rawh bin Ata', and both of them are da'if (weak).
