عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُحِبُّ الصَّمْتَ عِنْدَ ثَلَاثٍ : عِنْدَ تِلَاوَةِ الْقُرْآنِ ، وَعِنْدَ الزَّحْفِ ، وَعِنْدَ الْجِنَازَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ رَجُلٌ لَمْ يُسَمَّ .

Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) reports the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, Allah Almighty loves silence on three occasions: at the recitation of the Qur'an, on the battlefield, and at a funeral."
