وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا الْكَبَائِرُ ؟ قَالَ : " الشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ ، وَالْإِيَاسُ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللَّهِ ، وَالْقَنُوطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: A man asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Which are the major sins?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Associating partners with Allah Almighty, losing hope in the relief of Allah Almighty, and despairing of the mercy of Allah Almighty."
