رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit a man from the Ansar who was ill. When he came to him, he placed his blessed hand on his forehead and asked: "How do you feel?" He gave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) no reply. It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! His attention is turned away from you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave me alone with him." So the people got up and went out from his presence and left the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) there. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted his blessed hand, and the sick man gestured that he should put his blessed hand back where it had been before. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called out to him and asked: "O so-and-so, how do you feel?" He said: "I find myself better. Two came to me; one of them was black and the other white." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Which of them was closer to you?" He replied: "The black one." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That means the good is little and the evil is much." The man said: "O Messenger of Allah! Favour me with your supplication." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, forgive the much (that is, the sins) and increase the little." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What do you see?" He said: "I see good, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you. I see the good increasing and I see the evil fading away, until the black one has drawn back from me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Which of your deeds feels the best to you?" He said: "I used to give people water to drink." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Salman! Listen: do you find anything strange in me?" Sayyiduna Salman said: "Yes, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you. I have seen you on many occasions, but I have never before seen you in a state like the one I see today." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I know what this man is facing. In such a state every single vein feels the pain of death separately."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Musa bin Ubaydah, who is da'if (weak).
