Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3713

Ata bin al-Sa'ib narrates: We used to recite before Abu Abdul Rahman al-Sulami while he was walking. When we came to a verse of prostration, he would say the takbir and we would say the takbir, and he would prostrate and we would prostrate. Then he would raise his head saying the takbir, and he would say: "As-salamu alaykum," and we would say: "Alaykum as-salam." Abu Abdul Rahman stated that Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to do the same with them.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. There is criticism of the narrator Ata bin al-Sa'ib because of his ikhtilat (confusion of memory). The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
