وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : سَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَالْمُسْلِمُونَ فِي النَّجْمِ إِلَّا رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ أَرَادَا بِذَلِكَ الشُّهْرَةَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَأَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Muslims performed the prostration of recitation in Surah al-Najm, except two men from Quraysh who did not do so; by that they intended to gain fame.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and Ahmad also recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
