Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever I came early at midday (for the prayer), I found the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praying, having divided Surah al-Baqarah over two rak'ahs.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym; he is thiqah (trustworthy), but he is a mudallis (one who obscures his sources).
