Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3620

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites one thousand verses in the path of Allah Almighty will, on the Day of Resurrection, be counted along with the prophets, the truthful ones (al-siddiqin) and the martyrs; and these are the best of companions."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it; its chain mentions that Ibn Lahi'ah narrated it from Zabban, and there is criticism concerning both of them.
