وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - يَقُولُ : الْعِزُّ إِزَارِي ، وَالْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي ، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي فِيهِ عَذَّبْتُهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ وَالِدُ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ ، ضَعَّفَهُ أَبُو زُرْعَةَ وَغَيْرُهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ وَالِدُ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ ، ضَعَّفَهُ أَبُو زُرْعَةَ وَغَيْرُهُ .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty says: 'Might (or dominance) is My lower garment, and grandeur is My cloak. Whoever contends with Me regarding it, I will punish him.'"
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin al-Zubayr, the father of the narrator Abu Ahmad, whom Abu Zur'ah and others declared da'if (weak).
