Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty does not disgrace a person who stands (in prayer) in the middle of the night and recites Surat al-Baqarah and Surah Al Imran."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who has been criticized; he is thiqah (trustworthy) and a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
