Majma al-Zawaid 3516 — The expiation of sins through prayer

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The expiation for every sin is two rak'ahs." Its chain contains Maslamah bin Ali, who is matruk (abandoned).
