وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنَ الْوِتْرِ بِ : سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ : قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ : قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): In the first rak'ah of witr he would recite Surah al-A'la, in the second rak'ah Surah al-Kafirun, and in the third rak'ah Surah al-Ikhlas and al-Mu'awwidhatayn (the last two surahs).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat through al-Miqdam bin Dawud, who is da'if (weak).
