Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3438

Imam Ahmad has also recorded this narration from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has forbidden to my Ummah wine, gambling, mizr (a particular kind of intoxicating drink made from wheat, barley or honey), qinnin (meaning the 'ud, a particular kind of musical instrument) and kubah (according to one view this means backgammon, and according to another view it means the drum), and He has granted me the witr prayer in addition."
Neither of the two chains of this narration is authentic, since the first chain contains a narrator, al-Muthanna bin al-Sabbah, who is da'if (weak), while the second chain contains a narrator, Ibrahim bin Abd al-Rahman bin Rafi', who is majhul (unknown).
