Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states: Once a man and I were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A servant is not a believer until he likes for his Muslim brother what he likes for himself." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states: That man and I got up and went to the market, where some goods were being sold. I asked their price, and the man (selling them) said: "They are for thirty." That man looked at them and said: "I will take them for forty." The seller said: "Why are you doing this, when I am giving them to you for less than that?" The man examined the goods again and said: "I will take them for fifty." The other party said: "Why are you doing this, when I am giving them to you for less than that?" The man said: "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'A servant is not a believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself.' And my view is that these goods are worth fifty (dirhams or dinars)."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Part of this narration is recorded in the "Sahih", narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) alone.
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
