Sayyiduna Safwan bin al-Mu'attal al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the sun rises, the horn of Shaytan joins it; when it has risen, that horn separates from it. Then when it nears its zenith, that horn joins it again; when it has passed its zenith, that horn separates from it. When it nears setting, that horn joins it; and when it has set, that horn separates from it."
(The narrator said:) So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying at these times.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy. Before this, the hadith reported from Sayyiduna Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ahmad narrated has already passed.
