Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3267

Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the sun was eclipsed, and he said: "Indeed, the sun and the moon are not eclipsed because of anyone's death or life; rather, they are two signs among the signs of Allah Almighty. When you see them (in a state of eclipse), offer a prayer like the most recent prayer you have offered."
Al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, recorded it. The narrator Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Layla did not live in the time of Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him); the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
