Ibrahim al-Nakha'i narrates: Al-Walid bin Uqbah entered the mosque while Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) were in the courtyard of the mosque. Al-Walid said: Eid has come, so what should I do? Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Say: Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest); then praise Allah Almighty, extol Him, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and supplicate to Allah Almighty. Then proclaim the greatness of Allah Almighty, praise Him, extol Him, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then supplicate to Allah Almighty. Then proclaim the greatness of Allah Almighty, praise Him, extol Him, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and supplicate to Allah Almighty. Then proclaim the greatness of Allah Almighty, praise Him, extol Him, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and supplicate. Then say the takbir and recite Surah al-Fatihah and a surah; then say the takbir, go into ruku' and prostrate. Then stand and recite Surah al-Fatihah and a surah; then say the takbir, praise Him, extol Him, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and supplicate to Allah Almighty; then say the takbir, praise Him, extol Him, send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), go into ruku' and prostrate. The narrator says: Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: He has spoken correctly.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrator Ibrahim did not live in the time of any of these Companions,
so this narration is mursal, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
