Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3190

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray four rak'ahs before Jumu'ah and four rak'ahs after it, and he did not separate them (with a salam). (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: Ibn Majah recorded this narration in abridged form, mentioning only the four rak'ahs after it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains al-Hajjaj bin Artah and Atiyyah al-Awfi, and both of them have been criticised.
